Funeral Set For Killed McDonald's Worker
03/10/2010 -- Funeral plans are set for Raynold Orelus, the 45-year-old man who police said was shot and killed at a Baymeadows McDonald's when he was walking his manager to her car.

Services will be held Saturday, March, 13, at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home in Orange Park at 529 Kingsley Avenue. The funeral is at 2 p.m. followed by burial at Greenlawn Cemetary.

According to his family, Orelus and his wife, Miraclide, had been living in the United States for six years and were raising money to bring their kids from Haiti.

Orelus' four older children were displaced by the earthquake in January. His family and an attorney who donated her time worked with immigration officials to bring the boys to Jacksonville so they could say pay final respects to their father.

The reunion at Jacksonville International Airport early Sunday was the first time Miraclide Orelus had seen her children -- ages 9 to 18 -- in nearly six years. Instead of a happy reunion, the boys are tasked with burying their father.

Nesta Walker, 28, who is charged with murder in Orelus's death, is being held without bond in the Duval County jail. His arraignment on murder charges were set for March 18.
